McAfee is going global with its SAAS Web Protection, a cloud-based suite of products that provides businesses with protections from exponentially increasing Web threats. The platform is based on managed services assets acquired from MXLogic integrated with existing McAfee malware and Web security technologies.
McAfee SAAS Web Protection incorporates all of the knowledge and experience we've gathered through the years, as well as the unique expertise and technologies gained from our recent acquisitions. Combine that with our McAfee Global Threat Intelligence capabilities in the cloud, and we think users will be hard-pressed to find a better, more effective or reliable solution than McAfee SAAS Web Protection,” said Marc Olesen, SVP and general manager of McAfee’s Content and Cloud Security division, in a statement.
Perhaps the significance of this announcement is that McAfee is getting serious about competing in the cloud with the growing list of Web-based security competitors, including Symantec, Cisco, Google, Microsoft and Panda Security.
